3rd grade owls

Third graders have been working on these beautiful owls for the past few weeks.  We drew the owls together, then discussed the color wheel to determine what colors would work well next to each other.  We learned about complementary colors, analogous colors, and how these colors work together.  I think this is one of my favorite third grade projects!

  1. Do you have directions on how to create the beautiful owls? I would love to do this with my fourth grades! Thanks lipaskey@gmail.com

    1. Hi Elizabeth! I apologize for missing your comment! We just completed these on canvas in an Art Camp I taught this summer! They were beautiful! I'll try to post the step by step instructions for you in the next few weeks as we start back to school! For now, we started by tracing circles for the eyes, then drew the U shaped body, connecting it at the top and added details from there!
