This is the project that never ends! Seems like we've been working on these zebras in kindergarten forever! I think the end result is worth it though! Have a look!
Each set of stripes was one lesson so you can imagine how long these took! :)
Thanks Pam! The only shapes I gave them were the ovals for the eyes and noses. It was quicker for me to cut those than for them to trace and then cut, mess up, retrace, then cut again... Repeat... :) For the body, we used one of our 9x12 sheets and trimmed off the corners. The head and neck was another sheet cut in half and rounded corners. The legs were the 4th sheet cut in half longways, then each half cut in half again to make 4 long strips. Their last painted sheet was used for the ears, so it worked perfectly for those students who may have missed a day of painting because we had plenty left over to share!
Great Art. I'm personally giving my kid art lessons. I'm trying this with him at home, though I'm sure ours would be a lot of mess since he's only a year and a half :)
How cute are these?! They are so colorful and fun! Did you give the kids the shapes already cut or did they cut them? Really nice!

DeleteBeautiful! Did you talk about the color wheel or specific color groups each week?
DeleteHi Kelly! Thanks for your comment! We did talk about the color wheel, more specifically analogous and complementary colors. :)
DeleteThis is fantastic! My 5 year-old will love this project!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! The kids loved these!!

ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! I also have a 1 1/2 year old and he LOVES to paint! He insists on painting too when his big sisters are creating!
DeleteWhat a great lesson. So many possibilities.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janis! I hope to do these again in the spring! :)
