Cosmos!

Finishing up spring projects this week, starting with 1st grade and these larger-than-life flowers!  I found them here and she has shared an awesome tutorial for them!  Although I didn't exactly follow it.  Probably would have been easier!  :)  We discussed Georgia O'Keefe and her beautifully detailed flowers while we worked on this project. I can't wait to decorate the hallways with these!

  1. These look great! Can you tell me, are these standard sheets of construction paper, just accordion-folded and clipped at the corners? Also: how are you securing the layers at the center? Any advice much appreciated. We'd love to do this at our school.

  2. Hi Stacey!

Thanks for your comment! Hopefully you can view this reply. The reply link doesn't seem to be working! We used 9x12 sheets of construction paper with the corners clipped and attached them with glue to the back of their center. It required a lot of holding and counting! Haha! But once they dried they held together well. I'm trying to come up with a better method of attaching them, but so far, staples pull out and the metal brads are expensive and also fall apart. Glue seems to work best for us! Good luck!
