4th grade Spooky Halloween Houses

This is one of those projects I repeat each year in 4th grade.  They seem to get better.  The colors were especially vibrant this year!

We discuss unity and line, as well as artistic styles with this project.  I think they enjoy the fact that they don't have to make their lines straight.

They are still finishing up some coloring but I couldn't wait to post them!

    1. We actually used Crayola Color sticks. One of my favorite materials!

  4. Hi, Could I use pastels instead of the crayola sticks? Just trying to think of supplies we have at the school.

    1. Hi!

I'm sure you could try these with pastels! Chalk or oil pastels would work. You could definitely use other mediums!

    1. I've used construction paper pencils for these before but they are challenging because the leads are very soft and tend to break easily. Pastels would work though!

  6. These are by far one of my favorite Halloween themed art projects I've ever seen! I would love to do this with my fourth graders! I'm not an art teacher though and wonder if you have written out directions?? I can wing it, but would love a little guidance for the first time giving the lesson. Thank you! I'm off to gather my supplies!
